FREE ROOF INSULATION
Insulation installers are coming out of the woodwork (from lawn mowing contractors to men from hire a hubby, cashing in on a Federal Government "green" initiative worth $2.7 billion to put pink batts in the roof of Australian homes.
But along with good tradesmen, come the shonks and rip off merchants.
Crooks and spives aplenty.
Last year 100 was the figure given of deregistered companies given that were deregistered.
were any monies returned by rorting companies?
The promised threat of "naming and shaming" of companies has resulted in this meager list.
Imagine if there was a list of all 100 companies in the paper and homeowners that dealt with theis lot all checked their roof space and demanded the work to redone.

Metal insulation banned
THERE are fears thousands of households may have been fitted with potentially deadly roof insulation under a federal government scheme.
Environment Minister Peter Garrett banned the use of metal foil insulation in the $3.7 billion rebate scheme, citing safety reasons.
Four workers have died installing the insulation, three of them being electrocuted.
